Just checked and I'm doing the Sunday run.
By going more North and out of the NF takes it away from my usual stomping grounds. Don't think I've done Bragers Lane before (must look it up), but I don't think I'll put anyones Stava times at risk!

Was thinking of doing Sunday medium distance but after reading about the potential issue with the locals I don't think I'll bother. Pretty sad that they'd resort to such tactics.

Ride safe to anyone who does enter.

I've ridden four New Forest sportives and have not experienced any issues. Over hyped nonsense.

Goes past my fav food pub in the NF, The Alice Lisle. :hungry:
Many thanks for the pub recommendation. I did the 81 mile route on Saturday, stayed overnight nearby and had a fantastic lunch the next day and a couple of pints of HSB at the Alice Lisle.
Brilliant way to end a great weekend, drinking beer and watching all the cyclists going past knowing exactly how they were feeling with only 10 miles to go.
I'll definitely do the New Forest 100 again, really well organised, friendly guys to ride with and luckily no punctures (good old Gatorskins).

No punctures!!!!!!!! Between 3 of us we had 5

Dropped our time massively

Well what a surprise that was. Needing to get away for a week end the wife and I decided to stay at Sandy Balls stop giggling at the back please.
A camp site we would definitely recommend.
On Sunday morning having only taken my mountain bike I set off on a bike ride and it was then that I realised that the peaceful ride I envisaged before setting off was not to be as there were hundreds of other cyclists out there. I soon found out why as I was constantly being overtaken. Although I did not get the peaceful ride I was hoping to get it was terrific to see so many others out there enjoying their bikes and many of them acknowledging me as they rode by. Its certainly given me ideas about entering the Wiggle event next year and also has left me wondering where I ever got the idea that cycling in the NF would be boring as it is pan flat. I only cycled a 15 mile route and I found enough hills in that short distance.

I also saw my first one of these as well.

I think I've booked Sunday. To date I've not experienced any tacks, the technique is to be a slow fat rider, then everyone else collects them with their tyres first.
Technique worked again, 95 trouble free miles. I say 95 because I got rear ended 4 miles from the start by another cyclist (disc brakes work better in the wet than rim brakes).

As you say - good old Gatorskins. Luckily no punctures here either. Epic route on Saturday, stayed in a local cottage overnight. I said hello to every local I passed on route and got a cheerful response from every single on of them.
