I'd be up for it, is this the route or has it been changed? http://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php?id=18463

Looks like they're doing this one ie avoiding A34 from Alderley Edge and using the lanes thru Somerford Booths.

Only 5000ft of climbing? Pffft.

Depending on how City get on on Sat night (and therefore how much I drink!) I may pop over.

not too shabby in 60 miles

do you drink more when they lose? Must have a serious problem!

You like to bumpity bump don't you!!

Actually, the strap on my road shoes snapped yesterday, so I've spent all day trying to get some new ones. I wanted Sidi Genius 5 and they are online at £95, but I wasn't sure what size I needed. Went to Royles in Wilmslow to buy some but they want £127!!

So I have no shoes.

I could either move the pedals from the MTB and use MTB shoes or come out on the MTB and waste you on the climbs. Decisions decisions....

Just got back from this, it was a nice little event. Well organised and signposted, friendly and helpful marshalling. The route was pretty good with decent climbs for a 55 mile course.

Hope they do it again next year

Well I have also just done this and is was ok although could have done with an extra water stop around 40miles ish!

Averaged 14.1 mph which I am suprised as at one given point it was below 10, although did get upto a max speed of 41.6mph (almost brown stain territory for me xx(). As a newbie I was slighty suprised how big and how many of them hills there were but I suppose I should have known it is called the PEAK district after all.

Might try something similar again............in about 10 years time when I recover xx(

Hard to say really as it's all a bit new to me and I was on my own xx(. At the start there was probably about 100 or so riders but not sure was too busy being aprehensive. There were many times especially after I went through Buxton that I didn't see another rider for a good hour. I assume you can't catch up or be caught much on the steep hills!?
