It's okay listening to other people to find a starting point for your bike setup, but ultimately it is your body and that's what you should listen to.
Cheers Colin, i completely agree. Trial and error to begin with i'm sure but it's all about finding the position that suits me.

I'm taller than both of you (6' 2.5") and I'm sure my bike doesnt look that big, maybe its the angle of the photo or the long headtube geometry.
For reference, I ride Cannondale, a 58cm CAAD9 and a 58cm Slice.
Quite possibly the photo or the angle of it. The bike is also a 58cm - maybe its the geometry as well... the Synapse is a little different to the CAAD models...
