I have to ask, what is there to try?
Let's assume you know your frame size and you're happy with the fact it is race geometry or otherwise, how will it not suit? All groupsets work as well as each other, a wheel is a wheel unless you want to spent big bucks to save a lot of weight and tyres are short life consumables anyway.
I've never test ridden a bike, built loads up myself and I've never been let down in my expectations. Unlike cars, a bike is a bike and an experienced eye plus a bit of knowledge will tell you all you need to know. All else being equal one race bike / tourer / audax bike etc will ride pretty much like another.
And if this post doesn't bring howls of disagreement, I'll eat my hat. But I'm right anyway
