I have just got a new specialized allez 09 triple. It is lovely to ride as is a little bit bigger than my last bike but it still fits me. I have had 2 cycles in it so far and my back in now killing me. I ride my bike 10miles to work, cook all day in a kitchen. Then 10 miles back. Normally my body is used to it but I'm in real pain. Do you think my body will get used to the new bike or not?

What height are you and what is the frame size?

Whereabouts on your back is painful?

Can you post a pic of the bike so we can see the overall setup?

Are your bars lower than the saddle?

Have you tried following the basic online guides in setting up your position, there are a few methods but will get you in the ball park region of being comfortable. Keep at it, the aggravation may fade. If it persists then you could benefit in paying for a proper fit.

Specialized bikes usually have a sticker on the seat tube (vertical tube the saddle post goes in to) with the frame size on it. If it is a 56cm that should be okay for your height but the overall setup might still need looking at, such as stem length, saddle height, saddle fore/aft position.

Apart from bike fit lower back pain is also associated with tight hamstrings, are you stretching them out after your rides? If not it could be a contributor.

Have you recently upped your mileage significantly? It could also just be a conditioning thing. Lots of things to look in to !

My ride is the same as always. There is no sticker with the size on. My seat is higher than my bars, same as on my old bike, but not by as much.

Yeah, I did. I went out for a 15mile ride after this and I had 2 problems.
1. It hurt my back after about 9 miles.
2. When not on my drops I felt like I couldn't reach the handle bars.
