Yeah the rear is just surface scuffs, but the front is more deep. I will see where I stand after washing it.

T-cut colour fast is not as abrasive as normal T cut but will colour the scratches in a bit (until the next down pour or next time you wash the bike) so go for the normal Tcut (in a red bottle) which will take out the slight scratches and leave the heavier one looking a little better then touch in carefully with paint with

Hehe, it all sounds a bit fiddly! We can detach the brake block and then put masking and newspapers underneath. I just wish I could do it all now...as I am totally impatient!!! But I will like the project for sure.

You could do that I suppose, or ask your LBS to whip the fork out for you, then when it's painted get them to sling it back in, won't take them more than a few minutes.

OK Beano......I am very novice to this! Can only just put my chain back on ;) How can you tell about the tyres and brakes from my photos?

I quite like the chainguard, and I have no idea what an SPD is?

SPD's are clip in pedals, and FYI a 'dinner plate', or more commonly a pie plate is this plastic disc on the back wheel behind the cassette.

[EDIT] TBH though unless you know the rear derailleur is adjusted correctly I'd leave this alone. It's purpose is to prevent the chain going into the spokes if the rear mech is out of sync, but once you know the gears are spot on you can whip it off for a cleaner look.

OK OK guys....I think this will definitely be a project; have a lot of other stuff going on. Time and money is short at the minute! I will sort the brake pads out tomorrow as they are low on tread. Then the paintwork (as its not hugely desperate)

I have new pads to fit anyway so I can adjust the height then. After talking with bf and researching other topics, it seems like the T Cut won't be any good, so I think I will invest in some white paint, lacquer and sandpaper.....

Good call Charlotte, just take your time when you spray them and do 4-5 light coats to keep from runs in the paint. And clean them good before hand....im sure you know that
