New Bar Tape

My bike is needing some new bar tape. I bought some and thought I would have a go myself. Do I need to remove the brake lever/gear changer housing to fit the tape or do I just "tape" around them?

You leave it on but turn the hood cover up to tape round (underneath) it.
The new tape should come with a little strip for the back of the lever.

No, you tape around them.

Go for it! One of the more satisfying jobs there is on a bike!

I recommend watching the videos, they give you a real good idea of what to do. And take your time. It is one of those jobs where you benefit from taking it easy and carefully winding the tape on. Be sure in your mind where you're starting and which way you're winding and it's a cinch!

Also do a few practice "winds" before you stick it down - took me three times to get it neat!
