I prefer thinnish tape and unpadded mitts which makes sense (maybe?) on the same basis as a hard saddles being more comfortable over certain distances.
just had a fitting at Vankru in Winchester about a month ago and was very satisfied with the service. I do get a second appointment for free, so may go back.
It's well worth using that second appointment to discuss any matters such as numbness - especially if it is something that has started happening since the fitting.
The numbness isn't unbearable, but noticeable & I doubt I'll be doung long hours in the saddle again for a little while, but want to be sure I canbuold back to it in the future & figured that as the tape on there now was peeling, it was an ideal opportunity.
Well, yes, if your bar tape needs changing anyway you might as well change it for the good stuff, but I'm still not entirely convinced it's the root of your problem.
