Does anybody find that the new cream not only changed the colour but it's now less effective?

I feel that now it's not as good as it was before but I have not way of proving that.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Assos chamois creme - £12 for 140ml
Sudocrem - £7 for 400g

No contest.

Depends on the rules of the competition. If you prefer/want Assos then sudocrem is a looser and a waste of money!

I've tried it (the minty green tingly warming version) and can see why people like it but think it a tad expensive for my purposes. But just because I personally don't feel the need to buy Assos cream, it doesn't mean I don't defend the rights of others to do so ;)

£10-12 for a tub of something that lasts for months seems decent enough value to me. I liked the assos one the best of the ones i tried so didnt really grudge paying the price.

However over the summer i stopped using chamois cream, as i found if i was going out on consecutive long rides then i would be really sore by the 3rd day (to the extent that i'd had to ride standing up for long stretches!) - whereas doing the same without chamois cream then i'd be ok. Think it must soften the skin up and that is what then causes the discomfort.

I use E45 - Assos has lots of Lanolin, which is basically what E45 contains.

Whether its' better than Assos I don't know, since I'm probably a cheapskate.

That's interesting. The misses uses E45 (I think) for something or other. I think it's Boots own or somesuch. I'll have to investigate.

Vaseline doesn't have anti-bacterial property like the Sudo or Assos cream.

After long sweaty rides, you're at risk of getting jock itch. It's not nice I tell thee.

Interesting. I guess it's like someone buying a house alarm after they've been burgled. What I mean is, I've never had that problem in 38 years, but perhaps if I ever do I'll change my mind.

I have used Assos chamois cream, but as I never found it any more, (or less) beneficial I just stick to Vaseline

When you already have tried sudocream, Savlon, and other chamois cream and nothing works like the more expensive cream then that is what I'd buy.... in fact then the non Assos cream would be a waste of money rather than a saving.
