print screen on the keyboard, launch a photo editting software and paste into a new document, and then set it to full screen preview... the result would be exactly the same as when he left the room except for the fact there would be no mouse movement and no responce to the keyboard except for the escape key, and ctrl+alt+del which would respond normally... got him time and time again with that trick.

Utter genius!

In a quiet unattended moment, Master A_T has announced to the world wide web that his father has embraced naturism with a plea for others to try it and get in touch, because apparently I find it truly 'Liberating'!!
.... I'll let you know who replies!

Idiot son managed to activate the privacy button so when he posted it to the world, the only people that actually got the message were him and me..... lots of blushes spared but, ironically, I feel quite let down .... I was looking forward to a few laughs.

At work I run Debian Linux with a desktop called Fluxbox, I can leave it unlocked all day long and night and the majority of windows And Mac users in the office still can't work out how to do anything on it at all
A significant number of Mac users come from a Unix background and could probably do some 'interesting' things on your CLI. Not that i have ever done such a thing.
Yea but you can always tell the real Mac/bsd/Unix/Linux dudes.. When you talk about Steve they think 'Wozniak' while all the idiots who sleep outside Apple stores for three days to get the first new product which will be available everywhere within a week think 'Jobs' when you mention Steve... your systems safe with the latter unless its made by Apple and then they just want to hug it.

A colleague had an unfortunate public vomitting episode after having too many Tequila shots. I put the mp3 file for the Tequila song on his pc and associated the closing of a program in windows with a clip. The next morning it rung around the office at full volume several times as he desperately tried to stop it.

We used to play a trick with our boss when he left his desktop unlocked (against regs being MOD/Army).

Depending on what we had done previously, we would either disconnect his mouse &/or keyboard or better still take press print screen on the keyboard, launch a photo editting software and paste into a new document, and then set it to full screen preview... the result would be exactly the same as when he left the room except for the fact there would be no mouse movement and no responce to the keyboard except for the escape key, and ctrl+alt+del which would respond normally... got him time and time again with that trick.

After a while he became so paranoid that we could actually do nothing whatsoever and it would take him more than 5 mins to suss out we had done nothing... other than hide all his pens under the keyboard...

On Intel based machines you can invert the screen by pressing cntl+alt+down arrow. So take the screen shot, invert it with paint, set it as the wallpaper, then use the cntl+alt+down to make look as thought its the right way up

yeh - tell me about it - students at the school I worked at used to play that trick and as senior ICT Tech it was always me that picked up the pieces when the teachers could not manage the rotation back themselves
