need some help with my chainset

hi there ,,on my commuter the chain side crank is threaded where the pedal screws ,,obv this means the crank is gubbed ,,its perfectly good (newish )pedals on it ,,its a bast"£$$D to get off so can i just drill the centre of the pedal ,thread the inside of the hole and fit it to the crank??in the worst case il hace to replace the chainset with another ,,anybody any links for this ,,iv looked on ebay but i really dont know what to search for ,,bearing in mind the whole bike cost me 30 quid i dont want to spend a lot on it ,,the cheaper the better if i need to replace the part ,,so anybody any ideas /links/comments :thumbsup:

That's a bit hard to follow Jim ?
Which bit's actually defective, the thread for the pedal on the drive side crank ?, or the thread in the middle of the crank for extracting it off the BB ?
If its the thread that's stripped for the pedal, it's possible you LBS may be able to repair it.


Replacement crank ?...what bike is it, any info on the crank itself, is it square taper?, what chainring sizes ?, double, triple ?...give us some more info, we may be able to help.

im gona try ad fix it tdy ,,il drill through into the centre of the pedal spindle from the inside of the crank and try to attach a bolt and washer to secure it :thumbsup:
