the question is do i buy better pads or is the change to buying new brakes like 105 make a different or as a normal average rider ill see no different and just wasting money.

Put a cartridge system on it would be my recommendation, something like this:

Then you can try different pads, Koolstops and Swisstops seem to be the popular on here.

^ Try this first- your original brake pads aren't the best so would benefit from you trying a cartridge system.

If you still feel it's lacking you can upgrade to something fancier which these will work in as well.

The brakes on my specialized allez sport were awful! They just made a noise but didn't seem to want to stop me. I too thought about changing calipers or pads and went for a change of pads first. I got some lifeline pro from wiggle and couldn't believe how much better they were. I'm still using the old calipers, Best bet in my opinion is to change pads as they are relatively cheap and then if still not happy change calipers too, but then you'll also be able to put good pads on straight away!

Get decent pads on straight away - I like these from CRC, but there's others.
Then if you're still not happy get some Shimano dual-pivots, and put your decent pads on them.
Even Sora work well with decent pads in them, there's no need to go for 105s unless you want to

Koolstop are great and I've used them to great effect, but FWIW so are Swisstop Green which are my current pad of choice.

I'd generally agree with the idea of fitting a cartridge pad system with whatever pads you choose, then if your still not happy you can upgrade your calipers later.

However, if you've got the money you might want to go straight to calipers. Reason being is that 105 calipers that you mentioned come with a cartridge pad system already, BUT, you'll still want to upgrade the stock pads anyway as put simply they are made of cheese!

I wouldn't bother with pads or brakes tbh, after a year it is new bike time:angel:
