need a new bike!

Hello everybody,

I had a Carrera mountain bike for christmas, but had it stolen whilst I was doing my paper round a few months ago I never really had the chance to use it properly, other than on the road.

I now want to start cycling on the road, to and from school, and also to keep fit. The carrera subway looks very nice, but I dont really have a clue what kind of bike would be best for the job

I would really appreciate any advice or recomendations

welcome MrSquare, sorry to hear about your bike being stolen. The Carrera Subway was also on my list of bikes but I ended up going for the hybrid Ridgeback Speed which I'm very pleased with. Only you can determine what type of bike to go for ie will you go off-road? often, sometimes, maybe never?
Perhaps a hybrid and two sets of tyres/wheels - knobblies for the rough and slicks for the road?
Whatever you get don't forget a decent lock this time

HA HA I'll make sure i buy a lock as soon as I get the bike!

I was going to get the Subway too but opted for a Specialized Globe instead. The Subway might suit you well because of the 26" wheels if you're planning to do a bit of off-road.
