I've been trying for ages to get some names added to the Leicester Tourist Information's famous people page but with no luck.

So, please could you send an email with the following to one@oneleicester.com

Please could you add the folloing people to the famous people from Leicester page.

Fred Wood - Multi World Bicycling Champion in the 1880's and arguable the most successful rider of the Penny Farthing era

Bert Harris - England's first Professional cycling champion in 1894 and one of the greatest riders of the Victorian era. His Funeral in 1897 was also probably the largest Leicester has ever seen, drawing crowds of up to 200,000.

Roger Clark - arguably England's greatest ever rally driver.

Ta.

This is a bit like a list of famous Belgians. A couple of cyclists from 120 years ago and a bloke who drove a Morris Marina through a forest

Eddy Merckx was one of the cyclists, but 120 years old is a bit of an exaggeration.
