Well the nationals come to stockton this week and i have been asked to help out which i said yes but have been give the most important job of the whole event which is to get riders to the sign on and start point and UCI checkpoint while also engaging with sport directors ofthe teams and getting all the buses cars and trucks in place and being security to the bikes. Its going to be a busy weekend but will be nervous to start as if things go to slowly and riders become late it shows on tv and it will be my fault.

Enjoy. I'll be there on the Friday for the youth races (U12's).

Which days are you helping out on?

Seems like the pressure has affected your punctuation . I have a clubmate going in the men's TT which is a bit of a thing for us.

I think you have been asked to do far too much, Jamma: get riders to the sign on; get them to the start point and UCI checkpoint; engage with sport directors; get all the buses cars and trucks in place; act as security to the bikes. What's everyone else doing? This cannot be done alone so I hope you have some mates who can help. If things go to slowly and riders become late it shows on tv, it will NOT be your fault. Which TV channel btw?
Make sure you get a fast ride in each day as well (as per your training plan).

Tv channel is eurosport 2 apparently

3 people are doing the street velodrome with schools
1 person and the ambasdors are doing brochure distrubtion and signposting
1 person doing access to course from a road
1 person doing social media
1 person escorting local dignitaries

You should fine that you're only doing a small bit; there are often others who want 'high-priority' roles. Whatever you do, enjoy it.

My suggestion is that you'll be doing the 'access to course from a road' or manning the stand. *

For anyone interested, details of the event are here: http://events.stockton.gov.uk/stockton-events/stockton-cycling-festival-2/

* oh, and can you ask the organisers to e-mail out course/start information to participants so they at least know where they're going

Wish that was the case but email stating team area splash me until 4 pm when someone else comes
role 3 team area - splash
•all team infaststructure will be in splash car parks and beaumont/ glouucester house, grassed area to the back
• ensure all teams are sited appropriately
• respond to any enquires teams may have - i.e registration in splash, rider access point to start finish point , doping control/medical base town hall, access to course with support vehicles, where vehicles leave the course, church road crossing point.
• public interaction - oversee
• secruity of team equipment

But i will enjoy it as its not something you do every day of the week

On my commute home on 1825 way I got passed by Angela Hibbs and her team mate. Exchanged a few pleasantries as they passed me. I did keep up for about 1/4 mile.

Also spotted the Podium ambition girls waiting at the lights. I said good luck. At dinner I popped into town and saw Emma Pooley stopped and programming her Garmin. Didn't get chance to say hello then.

Well it kicked off today great event locals seemed abit p!$$ed off cause of the road closures and lots of walking done helping out taking pictures (got one with alex dowsett) and 3 great champs for the TT.Can't wait for saturday and sunday. Rumors flying round left right and centre about wiggins coming to see his team but seemed like it was just a rumor unless he managed to get into the team bus without being spotted. And now this has really kicked me 8nto getting out on the road a heck of alot more and buying a professional trainer as i may have a crack in the door of a local team.

Forgot about Matt stephens being there in commentary duty for eurosport he filmed a quick segment don't know if it was for eurosport or GCN.
