Mysterious shifting problem new bike.

I've set up the FD-R7000 a few times, every time I do I get it completely wrong and have to start again. It's a bit of a bugger to get right, but when it's working it is better than previous iterations.

My money is on an incorrectly setup derailleur and cable tension.

I don't find them 'difficult' - just different to what people have been used to for a long time. Needs a bit of patience and work through the Shimano instructions first time you do it

I generally shift to a smaller ring at the front when going uphill, unless a gentle gradient in which case I leave it where it is.
