Christmas Day and Boxing Day rides , how did you swing that ?

Both sets of folks were up and with a new baby to coo over, I don't think they noticed that I was gone! Not sure I could get away with it next year.

Looking forward to hearing how you're getting on with your new bike....

I'm a similar age and have just taken up cycling in the past year and though I can't commute, I'm loving it too. I haven't really lost any weight but like you, I do feel a lot better since starting cycling.

Good luck with your new bike, and just don't fall asleep at your desk and it won't get nicked

The weight loss thing is strange, the more I rode the heaver I seemed to get, not much but a few pounds. However, I can now wear clothes that haven't fitted for years!

I last weighed myself before Christmas, not to bothered now, I am not skinny but more toned than I have been in he last 20 years.

You're likely adding muscle (heavy) but losing fat (not quite so heavy), thus getting thinner and leaner but slightly heavier to begin with

I have been commuting by bike since last July and have lost almost 2 stones. Gone down a couple of belt notches too but it's a long difficult path... for some of us longer and more difficult than others!

Keep up the good work
