Empty? Fill the return envelope with gravel, old washers, bits of old chain etc.

The posties get their cut for delivering it, the junk mailers get to pay extra postage.

I try to be helpful with the freepost return envelopes. After all you never know, the good people providing that envelope at that insurance/loan/etc. company may just fancy a pizza or need their carpets cleaning. They really might have been thinking of double glazing.
It's just a public service I provide in these difficult financial times - helping companies link up together. I also have a mate who is a postman so it helps him out too.

BTW Sheva - had a drink with my mate the postie last week and to say he is a bit miffed at the way the PO is being treated is an understatement. OT though so I'll leave it there.

I thought that you could return them to the postman? Not that I've tried - I have a really nice postman who will tell me I've missed a parcel and then gets it from his car if he sees me when on his rounds.

I think he thinks I'm mad as I leave my front door open in summer but if open he always shouts hello as he chucks in the post. Mind you in NI, one of my aunts postmen brings in the post and puts it on the table each morning.
