The only riding today was to the station and back: the weather forecast wasn't great, and the day too short to get to Valence and back in daylight on the bike, so I bus/trained it both ways. Had a nice day in Valence with friends, and didn't have to worry about lunching dressed in cycling gear. Got some nice lighting effects too, with a bit of patience.

Sadly, no. I'm hoping that the collar can be used for my more modern 8 speed levers.

No I don't think so, I was more thinking of a full groupset looks better

This is true. Actually, having taken the levers apart they look very similar to the later indexed levers. I'm wondering if I could persuade them to fit onto the indexing and get the best of both worlds.
