What's that going to be when it's finished ? Not often I see belt drive RC's.
It's an IRIS one 1/10th scale touring car that will likely be raced indoors at some point this season, otherwise will be my 2024 "Modified" class tarmac car. Rare to see a shaft drive car these days, rarer one with 3 identical belts

Have Yokomo BD12 too but can't find any pics, It's different again with 2 equal length belts

Very nice!

I only have a couple of lower end RC's . An upgraded FTX Vantage with a high KV motor and ESC upgrades which is pretty fast and fun . And a 1/10th Reely Freeman trail crawler with upgraded ESC , brass hub things and beadlock steel wheels
. I'm more into trial / rock crawling than the fast stuff nowadays.

The Vantage is on my want list, Used to race offroad buggies so the bouncy stuff has a special place in my heart. Nowhere in NI runs 1/10th offroad now, there's 1/5th scale, 1/8th and us lot running TC's. Otherwise it would be a trip to Dublin for that fix,

BD12  Got a setup sheet for this online recently and copied every degree, shim and distance. It was absolutely mega to drive, better than my ability to drive it (as a recent returnee to RC racing) Think I finished leg3 of the A final 6 laps down on P1.

Fastest lap for Richard 10.319sec vs mine 11.098 - these things scream yet my best consistency run w/ fast lap was by no means leisurely paced, I was getting very flirty with the apex' of most corners and near sidways on exit.

Different day, but on the 14th we had a partial eclipse at our house, a few dozen miles north of the 'path of annularity'. It got darker than it should have been, with the sun so high in the sky, but not really dark. We used the binoculars on paper trick to look at it.

At its peak, all the dapples of sunshine in the shadows on the walkway became crescent-shaped.

On the stairs, more distant shadows were wispier.

I had never experienced that effect. It was pretty cool.
