The key for the bicycle workshop kept vanishing because people would put it in their pocket and forget it was there, so I've made a big keyring in the hope this reminds them.

We shall see.

That's a cracking idea for a keyring, I've got a few old links like that in a jar with various old axle cones, nuts and bits and pieces, probably from when I first started riding seriously and taking bikes to bits (I usually managed to put them back together). My garage key that I take out when on the bike doesn't have a keyring either ~ I feel a mini project coming on for tonight .

I've also been doing that for years for my keys.

I did consider that, but it wouldn't fit in the drawer.

Bigger drawer. Think laterally.

Make a hook to hang it on

Alas, it's not my drawer, and the manager may object.

Or electronically tag them to stop people walking off with them after work like they do in prisons. Though a governor did once some how manage to go home with his set. Meaning the whole prison had to have every lock changed.

I think that electronic tagging may be considered an invasion of privacy here. Besides, it'll probably just show it going to my apartment or the managers house; we're both terrible for losing keys.

This happens more than you'd think. At least one trade union for social workers here offers "Insurance against losing master keys" specifically as a benefit of membership, showing that a lot of us lose keys, or are a bit paranoid about losing keys...

Et voila! I put one of the old axle cones on the end for a bit of extra ballast (I'd love to know how many places that's been in the distant past). Pictures are a bit pants due to workshop seeming darker in photos, but you get the idea. Added bonus picture alongside cutting edge cycle 'computer'.
