There's a lot of roadworks around my way recently so just inspecting the handiwork now that this piece of road has re-opened . So they've taken away a hawthorn hedge (bad in a way), widened the road and put in a footpath (good, as this links a housing estate with town and it was dangerous for pedestrians due to idiot drivers) but why didn't they move the telegraph pole whilst they were at it? :wacko: How long before someone crashes into it!

Maybe they wanted to give motorists a taste of what cyclists have to put up with on cycle paths...

It is a good deterrent to pavement driving while saving the cost of moving the pole, and if a car hits the pole the electric company have to deal with it, so a win-win for the council.
