And funny enough, I was riding through the Wirral countryside near Parkgate yesterday and I saw this flash of blue coming towards me, it was none other than Dave Lloyd. You know when you've seen Dave Lloyd on a bike, he's always at 100%, always gritting his teeth, and never smiles or says hello

Dodgy: 'Dave Lloyd' IS a hard bastard - seriously - never met him but considering he's in his 50's and the miles he does...WOW !

He even rides his own classic and thats not easy in any way.

Actually, Dodgy, the fact that he snalled at you is reminding you he's a true roady and thats as good as your gonna get :biggrin::biggrin:

Yenners, I feel honoured ;) I see him fairly often actually, I only realised it was him when I got the same response every time and he now wears this really distinctive sky blue strip (goes with his coaching). But he does have a reputation for being nails.

Another time I was riding around the roundabout at Heswall/Gayton and a guy was coming from Heswall on the a540 towards me in yellow. "Here we go, another wannabe" I thought, but of course it was Chris Boardman, fresh(ish) from his Tour De France adventure when he did briefly wear the yellow. He waved, too, but I haven't seen him again since then.

my most recent friend is called Dave. He is a fine decorator. Dave the decorator. i have loads of other Dave acquaintances and friends. It seems to have been quite a popular name. It can be difficult though, knowing whether to call someone Dave or David, or conceivably - Davy. There may be a few regional variations as well. One of my earliest memories concerns a Dave.

I have a mate Dave who is crazy and threatened to run someone over.
I also have normal mate named Dave.

In my first job out of an office of 11 there were 5 Dave's and 1 other chap called Jim who's nickname was Dave:eek:

I'm called Dave (amongst other things), and a lot of my mates are, too! I'm very selective!

Dave seems to endure as well. my son (Dan), who is 9, knows some David's at his school..

It may be the most popular name of all time for a man. i also believe there have been biblical David's - the star of Dave is also something to note.
