Hi all

have just purchased a fab, virtually new 2012 Tricross Sport from ebay. Was wondering if any Cyclechatters have advice on mudguards? Was going to transfer over some Chromoplastics from my old Revolution Cross but there are no eyelets on the front and only one set on the back which I have allocated for a pannier rack.
Obviously I am going to change the pedals, remove reflectors etc. An advice more than welcome. Lovely bike isn't it?

Thanks. Yeah I was a bit surprised at no eyelets on front! Raceblade Longs perhaps, but was originally hoping for a more solid option...

Yeah that was my worry with the p-clips - the shape of the fork. it's all lovely and new and don't want to scratch it. Is it an unusual Tricross, not having eyelets at the front? (thanks Cyberknight, by the way!)
would blumels not fit then?

Put some tape on the forks to protect the paint, not sure if it's just that model that has no front fixings, mine is a 2012 but a different model (Elite) and has them

I seem to remember tricross being subject to a recall regarding front fork, not sure what year though,so it could be a replacement fork.

yeah the recall was June to November 2011, this bike was purchased Feb 2013, so I suppose the retailer could have replaced prior to sale?
Potsy - yeah might have to do that, although raceblade longs are fine on my Secteur. Can't believe it really!
Actually if you look at the pic on this link the forks MUST be replacement ones. Why didn't specialized put eyelets on them? grrrr

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Heres a thought,
crud mudgaurds have plastic eyelets that are held on by rubber bands, buy a spare set and use them for your eyelets , would it work ?
£6.50 including arms which would be surplus unless anyone has spares?

If the FF is carbon that would explain the lack of eyelets you might want to check if you have a brake hole drilled as without one of these mudguards will be impossible barring genius of course.
Yes it is bizarre. All the current models have the eyelets. You didn't buy it new did you? It might be worth contacting Spesh anyway to see what they have to say.
Good idea. Will see! Nah, eBay.
