I don't have a garage, but of all the people I know who have them only one keeps a car in it!

I don't get garages. Cars are rainproof and designed to be outside, why should you need to put them in little houses when it's dark? If I had a garage I wouldn't put the car in it.

I couldn't pit a car in my garage even if I wanted to. The previous owners of our house had a garage built to be one up on the neighbours who had a car port erected. Our previous house owners dicovered that next door could get their car into the car port because they'd had a bay window removed. Our bay window remains in place. Our enterprising predecessors then nicked five inches of next doors drive - it is 18" higher than ours to allow them access to their garage and even then they had to buy a mini to do it. When our neighbours asked for their drive back I had no problems in ceding the borrowed territory.

I can get six bikes a motor bike, two stationary engines and a lot of clutter in our garage. My shed holds my reserve collection of clutter. Our secondary living room hold the primary collection of clutter.

My garage is about to get knocked down to make room for an extension...which includes a bike storage/work area which leads to a Utility/shower room which leads to the kitchen. So within too short a time I shall be able to finish my ride, clean and store my bike, clean myself, place kit in washing, then grab some food. I shall be part of a cycling conveyor belt

Have you factored a ride pie evacuation module into your plans or are you just going to use a bucket, pre-shower?

We dont have a garage:sad: Wish we did for my bikes and other bits of clutter.
But i think if we had a garage then my brother would try and take over it dojg his work on boats, so will be smelling of fiberglass resin and other strong glues:wacko:
Although he has the big shed, i only have half of a small summer house. The other half is taken up by the lawn mower and other crap, with my clutter piled on top:biggrin:

We have a garage:biggrin: but it doesnt contain any of my bikes:angry:. However it does contain the 1972 escort, so its not all bad.

My first car was a 1973 Mark 1 Ford Escort. Lime green in colour.
WNO 534 L reg. Which is odd because I can't tell you the registration of the car we have now.

I frequently get remarks that my garage is 'unnaturally' tidy. Wife says if I spend any more time in there, she's going to put a bed in it.

Yes I can, Yes I am, Yes I did...Repeat.
we converted one side of our doube garage into a room...we left enough space in fromt of it for storage racks etc and that gives me the other half for bikes and stuff....works for us...I was going to convert it all into a small studio at one point.

My garage is too narrow for the car and I have no loft so my garage is tidy but necessary storage at the moemnt. When I move (if I ever sell the house) the car will be safely tucked away in the garage each night. No frosty windscreens and the ability to stay clean after being washed is a must on my list. The bikes and mower etc may have to go somewhere else depending on what room is left in the garage.
