Well I heard back from Trent Barton regarding the issue (although I had to chase them on it).

CCTV footage was viewed and the driver was given a bollocking and has now got this incident permanenty on his record, although apparently he has to attempt to murder two people before he gets a formal warning.

Didn't get an apology though, but it'll do I guess. I'll be keeping an eye out for him in the future.

Well I've heard back from customer services at Trent Barton who say they have passed on the info to the depot for them to check the CCTV on the bus, which when I made a complaint a couple of years ago (after a bus driver almost ran me over when I tried to flag him down as a passenger) they actually did, so I'm hopeful something will come of this.

Police sadly said they can't do anything without witnesses, by which they mean they won't get anywhere without witnesses so can't be bothered.
Tell the police that the average bus has nine cctv cameras, some of which are pointing out of the side of the bus. The bus company can be obliged to hand over footage with the right enquiry/process. Then ask them if they want to cuff yet another job.

can really shake you up that kind of thing ,most drivers i think are unaware of what a cyclist must do to evade serious injury and how quickly they must react to save their skins and the drivers licence if he caused a serious accident .
