Well, that's their loss, if they don't want us we certainly don't want to be there!

the climb up Billsmoor has scarred me for life lol.

 I know what you mean, it is very, very tough. I think it would still be a killer even on a still day.
I was more scared about going up the Gibbet than any other part of the trip but I agree, it wasn't as bad as I expected.

I have a friend doing the cyclone and Mr Carolonabike is thinking about it. I think it's a bit beyond me this year but maybe in the future, who knows.

I'm now a big fan of the cafe at Elsdon and I'm planning a return trip soon. I'd like to take my crew  there before we tackle the C2C in July but at the moment they're not up to it. We went up to Fontburn the other week and one of them really struggled due to lack of cycling in the previous three weeks . Seriously, what did he expect!

Yes - well done!

57 miles is only about 3 miles short of a metric century.
5.14 actually, so it was about 92% of a metric century. It wouldn't be a big step up to one, would it?

Now if I'd realised that I would have cycled around the car park a couple of times when we got back
I did that a few weeks ago, got home with about 60 miles showing. I went out again for a 4-mile local loop and felt very pleased with myself afterwards.
