I love my buffs i've got a few from different events i've done, one of them has a reflective strip on it which is good for the bike when i'm traveling to work since most of the year its dark when I commute (if its not hidden under the helmet) The come in handy for lots of things and so simple!

Used it again this morning when cycling in and the difference is amazing - no more cold ears and I am a much happier cyclist!

Essential bit of kit for winter, I have an original Buff and a Cyclechat one, they are both used a lot though it's not quite cold enough yet for them.
Got most of my winter kit sorted now, just need a decent pair of gloves now.

Balaclavas ceased to be cool back in '63. Buffs OTOH are cool.

Actually they can be used as a balaclava. I don't have a proper buff but a Cycling Plus freebie which I wouldn't be without... One of these days when I'm feeling flush I might fork out on a proper one, but for now, I wear mine round the neck as a scarf most of the time as it keeps the cold draughts out, but over the mouth works if its getting parky and up over the ears for the balaclava version. Bandana and beanies are possible. Amazing what you can do with a tube of cloth.

I got that as well and thought it was a bit eighties looking and presumed it would be consigned to the bottom draw never to be used. Tried it and was a total convert. It has become as essential as gloves for winter commuting.

Even had to buy my g/f one as she kept nicking it to wear after discovering how good they are. She doesn't even own a bike...
