Soak your bum in vinegar to harden it up...

it works for conkers!

Does it work for plums?

Your nan is a wise woman indeed. I prefer greengages as they are easily the finest of any plum

I've heard it can also be used as a rather nifty chamois cream, however the wasps seem to love settling on your shorts...motivation to keep the speed up to avoid them I guess

Plum chutney is less attractive to wasps. I've no idea if it works as a botty balm though

i started riding on Friday, it was today (Tuesday) before i could get back in the saddle again.
Got my bike yesterday and had to walk the last mile or so home as I just couldn't let my bum anywhere near the saddle.

Back in the saddle tomorrow?or give it a few days???

I'd try just sitting on the saddle at home, you'll probably know whether you'll be able to ride or not.
I sat on the saddle the day after my first ride, it was still painfull as hell and there was no way i could go for a ride the next day. It was four days before i was able to sit painfree, however i have bought a pair of cycling shorts which have helped too.
