No, should be pure alcohol, you can get it off the net for about £4 for 500ml. if you're in any doubt use disc brake cleaner from your LBS. Don't use surgical spirit from the chemist sold as alcohol, it often has additives like oil.

It is worth trying the barrel adjusters to see if that allows you to apply more pressure since its very quick and easy to do.

If you solve it let us know, Good luck.

OK, will try the barrel adjusters, and I don't use it for dirt jumps  I just figured that half suspension, half solid frame would be best for me : I ride down trails, and on the street so... And Thanks Paul, will let you know.. thanks again

Don't forget that on a cable disc you have to adjust the rear pad as well as the outer. Usually an obvious place for an allen key, turn until the pad is rubbing the disc then back off a notch or so. Do this before adjusting the outer pad with the cable.

I've checked the brake pads, they have got plenty of wear left on them, can't get to the bike as there is loads of stuff on top of it and I cba to get it out till the weekend when I've got some time, but I looked at the rear brake pads and they have got plenty of wear left.
