I had a pair of old (but nice) walking boots. After walking the dog yesterday I took them off and left them outside the front door, and promptly forgot about them. Some joker has taken them during the night.

It's relatively quiet around here, and not really on the path to anywhere after closing time. Having said that I heard some voices outside going in a given direction last night - but thought nothing of it.

In the grand scheme of things it's not much of an event, but it's an inconvenience to me and I wouldn't mind them back, to replace with a new equivalent pair would be a bit pricey. I'm thinking of doing a note drop of the houses in the direction I heard the voices going asking nicely for them back

Lost: Waking Boots

My boots went for a walk from outside my frontdoor on Fri night, and don't seem to be able to find their way back home. If they happen to have made it into you abode, please could you give them directions back home.

Many Thanks.

As opposed to the sleeping variety?

Sorry to hear about your boots going for a walk. Hope you find them!

sure it wasn't foxy loxy. I left a pair of clogs outside the door, one was returned by a nieghbour the other found a few days later half chewed, further up the road.

Not too long ago, I saw a pair of shoes tied together at the laces that were hanging from a BT telephone line. (ala Bolas)
Years ago, it wasn't all that uncommon to see a pair of footwear gracing an overhead wire.
Don't see bike tyres hooped over street lamps now since they replaced the shorter lamps with those tall ones.

I wonder if you'll now start receiving postcards from your boots showing them pictured at different world locations.
Just like that nicked garden gnome.

What is that "shoes over the power lines" thing anyway. I've never been able to find out why. Is it from a movie?

Does anyone know?

My sister and her feller "borrowed" a couple of pint glasses from their local and took them on holiday. The landlord had made a big deal about his new posh glasses and was well chuffed to get a postcard from them .

I`m reliably informed it`s a sign of drugs being available for sale at the house the wire runs to.
