I have a big nut and bolt scrounged from a local engineering firm. The nut just fits inside the cup (or the bolt head, doesn't really make much difference which way round). I don't know what the size is, but it is big enough to fill the cup. Then I just turn it 'till it bites then I use a long torque wrench, and if that doesn't shift it I use a right angled 1/2 in drive extension and a three foot length of steel pipe that will take my weight without bending. A BB cup has never beaten me yet, neither have I damaged threads or frame. I have a pair of old cups that we ground down to just leave three strips of thread like a tap, and these are good for chasing out the BB threads in the frame before fitting new units.

Something I just thought of is to leave a bit of head sticking out of the cup so you can get a socket onto bothe sides, the bolt head and the nut to undo the nut and bolt again. Of course if you are certain you wont do the job again then just bin the lot!
