I must be one of the lucky ones, never had any problems with ass pain regardless of the seat normal shorts always worn and standard seat that came with the bike, do feel for you all suffering though I can imagine the awkwardness of it all

Ditto.... Had lower back pain to start but as you build your core that goes. Never had a problem with saddle/seat/bum

Decent padded shorts + Charge Spoon saddle. = comfort for me.

Try short trips at first, say 20 minutes in the saddle. Stop before you suffer any pain, forget about mileage, just build up time in the saddle gradually. It works for me:smile:.

When I were a lad I was in a rowing team, to harden our hands and prevent blisters we would rub methylated spirits on our palms, perhaps you could try this on your rear end then get back to us on your killer ass.^_^:giggle:

Are you new to cycling, meaning haven't you ridden on a bike saddle before,or for a long time maybe? If so the pain could be down to what we all experience, but once you're broken in you're fine.

I tried a couple of Specialized saddles after the stock one and they hurt like hell. Just recently bought a Selle italia and it is like sitting on the sofa at home.
