Sounds like a plan.

If you are doing 89 miles you may as well add on another 11 to get you up to the century

btw 7 hours on an exercise bike is nuts (i cant even begin to imagine how boring and uncomfortable that would be!). Build up to your long rides on the road and save the exercise bike for an hour here and there.

I have to be honest, I did an hour last night and I was bored ridgid, there was jack on the tv so I think that idea might go to room 101, I have plenty of rides coming up over the next few weeks to get me fit and all of them include some nice hill climbs.

Decided on the final route for the Cleethorpes ride, My house in Sheffield, follow the back roads through Hellaby to Doncaster, then on to Cleethorpes.

According to google maps it's 70.5 miles and should take 6hrs 20min add however long for lunch breaks and so on.

Now all I have to do is pick a good weekend to do it

Rock n Roll
Even at a sedate 12.9mph, (and thats what I did when I did this http://app.strava.com/activities/27949722 total time was 4.56 riding and 6.15 total) ok its not as far but similar terrain to what you will have on the run to Cleethorpes, well in part anyway.

7 hours on an exercise bike? Get out in the wind and wuthering, take some snap and a rain jacket, and after seven hours you'll probably have done cleethorpes and back!

Well this coming weekend is going to be the one for my Home to Cleethorpes ride, well weather dependent but if it has been anything like these last couple it should be a good ride, im going on the Saturday setting off nice and really early, then catching the train home which will leave me Sunday to come round.

Im spending a couple of nights going over my route but I think its going to be from Home to Doncaster to Cleethorpes, I fitted a new seat to my bike yesterday which is soooooooooo much more cumfy than the old one.

I really cant wait for this one and really, really hope that the weather is good.

I will let you all know how it goes.

If you haven't already join garmin connect which has a good route planner on it, it will give you the shortest bike friendly route between 2 points, but be warned it is worth going over the route on google earth as it has sent me down the odd dirt track!

thanks for the advise simmi
