Jerry Reed

I knew of him before he featured in (& wrote/sung) a lot of the soundtrack to Smokey & The Bandit, he was Cletus Snow ('the Snowman', the truck-driver)

Released circa 1970-1972?

Seen here, singing a song that he wrote, that (ironically, a real-life truck driver later recorded, also asking Reed to play guitar on it!!)
The other chap is someone I'd wrote off in those days, due to the 'rhinestone' era (still prefer early, or later, not the 70s country)
BUT, both are incredibly awesome guitarists!!

Reed also wrote A Thing Called Love, far better known for Johnny Cash covering it

Fantastic 'black guard' Tele :smooch:

I was aged 12 and into such as David Bowie, Slade, Mott The Hoople Gary Glitter:secret::unsure: when I first saw and heard Peter Skellern's You're A Lady on TOTP's in 1973. My thought's were "What is this old folks music about"?!! A brass band on TOTP was a rarity and not something that appealed to us teenagers, but now I could listen to his music one song after the other.:music:

Glen Campbell was a member of the Wrecking Crew, the absolute top session musicians of their day, they were also more or less Phil Spector's house band, a very talented man, and a Beach Boy for a while

I realised that later, after digging deeper than the Rhinestone Cowboy/Galveston/Wichita Lineman era, into his session musician times
There is one clip, that I've seen on YouTube, with Alice Cooper talking about GC & how (I'm sure it was) Eddie Van Halen had asked AC to arrange a meet wtih GC, for a 'guitar lesson'

Roy Clarke was another immensely talented guitar player
