I remember when I first came across the Smiths I thought for a while they were a comedy parody band, with Morrisey playing the role of angst ridden teenager. A bit like Emo Phipps.

I was a bit baffled when I realised they were actually serious, but hey ho, it takes all sorts.

The Smiths are pish and Morrissey is an absolute tosser.

Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now did make me laugh. Until I found out it wasn't a comedic parody.

I kind of stopped paying attention after that.
