My clarinet playing took a blow yesterday. I thought I would try playing "Strangely on the Shore". If you heard my rendition you would know why!
Well some of the notes sounded alright to me until I got to one awkward one that I couldn't do. So I gave up. In my book which is telling me how to play tells me to use my tongue at the beginning and end of each note. Yeuk! I completely lost it! I was concentrating on using my tongue that I forgot to blow or what note I was supposed to be playing. I couldn't even go back to playing Oh Come all Ye Faithful the way I had been playing so I gave up.
I have now discovered that there seems to be different ways of teaching music. American and our way. A bit like Braille I suppose!. Something to do with Quarter notes as opposed to 2 notes. Don't ask me I haven't a clue!

Oh! There seems to be another strange thing on FBMP. I spotted another cheap Saxaphone for sale. It could have been genuine but then I noticed some other of the same make popping up in different places for similar amounts.

Good morning from a mostly cloudy & overcast Suffolk. Coffee is just being finished and, once I've had a bit of breakfast, topped up my Dart Charge account and made a flask of coffee, I'm off to Brands Hatch for the first day of the truck racing meeting. Must also remember to get some diesel on the way out - about £30's worth should cover today and possibly next weekend as well (depending on what I decide to do).

The bank holiday weekend weather continues. They've really pushed to boat out this time and given us the top of the range, deluxe bank holiday weather with all the wind and rain you'll ever need. :rain: :cold:

Umbrella required for this morning's perambulation. Breakfast was served on a rectangular plate today. Someone did the impossible and managed to mess up cooking baked beans as the sauce was all dried out.

My car is booked into clinic later for its annual wellness checkup. Should be okay but it's 19 years old after all so will see what happens. It's at a dodgy age for catalytic converters.

After yesterday not forecast rain, todays forecast was a cloudy start with a sunny afternoon so exactly the opposite it seems.
Very chilly and strong easterly as I hung the washing out. It has eased slightly and warmed after I had the first coffee of the morning.
Ebiked to Waitrose and the wind was noticeable at times, as were cyclists on pure pedal power struggling against it.
Immediate trek then to the bank to pay in the £50 Nationwide cheque; their app is meant to be able to pay cheques in but no way would it scan the cheque.
Hake (£1 app voucher used) and a couple of bananas bought from Waitrose.
Both ways I used the recently loose chipping covered roads - outbound I use a steep downhill with a left hand bend at the foot and that had been done first and was reasonably compacted. Then I saw I sign for resurfacing of it this coming Tuesaday and Wednesday😕

test drive of the new car over distance , tried using the inbuilt sat nav for a road trip with a distance of 110 miles each way so 220 .I had over 300 miles of fuel but the sat nav took me a really out of the way insisting on motorways rather than the normal a road.In the end i had to put extra fuel in to make it home
Normally takes 2.5 hours turned into closer to 4 each way !
Reading up i have since found out the onboard system is renowned for being crap so i will be back to waze next trip !
from my house to mablethorpe is usually heading across newark/ lincoln direction but the sat nav took me up the m 1 , then m180 to grimsby before coming back down the coast !

Not having a go @cyberknight as you have enough on your plate.

But why if doing a repeat journey to a regular location do you follow the sat nav ? Just go your normal route that's what we always do
