A friend has completed a ride from Perth to Sydney. Congrats to her, what an adventure that will have been.

Working week completed and vegetable soup and wheaten bread consumed.

Bank Holiday weekend weather has kicked with a vengeance. Cold, stormy and very wet. Planned afternoon ride postponed until further notice.

I could do with some extra storage in my bedroom (I have more cycling clothes than "normal" clothes! Is this normal?). The local homeware shop has some chests of drawers heavily discounted so I might drive over and get one. If I can be bothered with Friday traffic!

Emergency visit to supermarket for more hot cross buns completed

reminds me when I first started dating this one girl, who lived w/ her brother. one night after dinner they decided they wanted home made ice cream sundaes. so we packed up & headed to the grocery store for all the makings

they introduced me to so many wonderful things, such as deep fried chicken wings & boneless spare ribs, as part of Chinese take out dinners

Trimmed some of the cherry trees behind our house - took a little off the height off, then ran the branches through the muncher. The cat run (catio) now has fresh bark/munchings on the floor. Knackered now, probably shouldn't be doing this hard work just yet (hip issues), but no-one else is going to do it.

Beautiful Daughter and I are packed ready for tomorrow's big adventure: we're going to collect her "new" bike (24" wheels) and 21 gears from my work in Tübingen. Then we will ride back along the Neckar cycleway, which will be about 50km (30 miles).

I'm hoping the café in Tübingen will be open so we can have breakfast there before we start...

Nor so much planning as being on mailing lists and having budget hotels saved as favourites to quickly check prices. A spreadsheet is needed to keep track of what I'm doing though.
As for trains, I've got to know most of the routes and potential alternatives so stick the journey into Trainline to give an idea of price. One trip to Sheffield later on should cost me around £27 going via Doncaster instead of around £40 on the obvious route via Nottingham. It will also be more comfortable with part use of LNER' Azumas.
