@rockyroller - that looks like mine after about 3 weeks, although it was bandaged to the end. Before then I was in a cast.

Hopefully you'll recover quickly.

This looks way more 'nasty' than my extensive pelvic fractures - I didn't even get any skin bruising at all. Mad isn't it.

My wife's sprained ankle 'currently' looks way nastier than what I had - she's getting frustrated after 3 days, I had three months.

I do think I have some silly pain tolerance, as my wife gave birth twice with just gas and air, but she's said her sprain is similar.

Senior physio person at work said today, 'you cyclists are tough'. He's a UK expert on injuries. I dropped my DVD of images off for my colleagues to use as a case study.

My pelvic fractures were discovered by checking into our physio clinic - so student and staff member examination - they said not good. Followed up by my examination being reviewed by two senior physios at work - outcome - suspected hip socket fracture. That's what sent me back to A&E after my GP practice refused to see me.

Work now has over 2gb of images to use as a case study - happy to share them as a case. Patient comes in thinking a bad soft tissue injury...

Much needed 4 and a bit mile stroll taken in the afternoon sunshine and strong breeze while catching up with a couple of podcasts.
A little bit of simple gardening was also done when I got home - the bindweed that comes through the back fence was Weedol'd (although the glyphospate free stuff isn't as effective as the real thing) and Provanto was sprayed on the lillies as a pre-emptive measure against lily beetles although I've not seen any yet.

Hot chocolate next.
What'll you spray the hot chocolate on, and what are you hoping to stop/kill?

We have had this wet stuff falling from the sky today. Almost strange to see it again! Good job I played it safe and wore my rain coat to walk to work.

TWenty mile ride completed after work in the drizzle. It's become really cold again too.

I've been spending some of my hard-earned cash by buying a concert ticket (The Saw Doctors) and also a job lot of cantilever brake pads from eBay to keep my old MTB and Raleigh Pioneer on the road for another few years.

I've also had contact from my solicitor regarding my case against the driver that hit me and it seems I have to go and have yet another ****ing private report done on my injuries for reasons that I don't understand as they have all the X-rays and nothing has changed.

been inadvertently bending it slightly & they said not to for 5 days. felt a pinch up where the stitches would be. surprised they didn't splint it. so I found a cpl popsicle sticks & taped them to the bottom of the finger. I can still move it up & down but not bend it

Had a lovely luncheon of garlic ciabatta, rillettes de porc, smoked cheddar, fruit (mango and a red orange) and a :cuppa:
A quiet afternoon spent writing was had.
Now sat down with a :cuppa: and a flapjack thingy.

everything you eat sounds so yummy

although I'm guessing an American flapjack isn't the same as your thingy?

Is it really worth it? I'm not making light of it at all, but so many men in WWI were glad to be out of the trenches and never looked back - or talked about it. Maybe just move on and save any more aggravation? Live for another day is a sound maxim.

A flapjack on this side of the pond is a confection made from rolled oats, butter, golden syrup and whatever fried fruit, nuts, seeds and chocolate you want to add. Your flapjacks would be called pancakes here.

And yeah, I'll admit it, I'm a foodie! :hungry:

I tried to make flapjacks one time but could only get molasses instead of golden syrup at the time and they turned out gooey and not easy to carry on the bike. I have since obtained four tins of golden syrup from one of the local British shops, but have not had the push to bother to make any more. Some day...

Failing that, golden syrup is very nice on hot buttered toast... :hungry:
