Mrs P over in Goosnargh two more days.Her dad still in hospital,she is visiting tonight.Me i am just plodding along decorating.First coat of final cover went on today,going to let it harden off before i give it it's final coat and i want some sunshine.So i will open up another front on the staircase.Right i am going up to bed.The room is not a nice place to sit in so i will lay out reading on the bed ,night all.

A bright and breezy day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well enough, but lady issues still ongoing. Still feel a bit fragile, but met up with a friend for a resumption of our weekly dog walks after a couple of weeks' hiatus. She was well pleased with the job lot of 50 dental chews I got on YS for her doggos. And it did me good to get out and get some gentle exercise.

Had a lovely luncheon of garlic ciabatta, rillettes de porc, smoked cheddar, fruit (mango and a red orange) and a

A quiet afternoon spent writing was had.

Now sat down with a and a flapjack thingy.

The Toby Carvery, who do not own the piece of land the tree was on, but are near to it, have admitted they authorised the destruction of the tree.

Toby Carvery is owned by Mitchell and Butlers.

Mitchells and Butlers major shareholder is Odyzean Ltd (56%)

The major shareholder of Odyzean is Joe Lewis, who owns Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur have put in a planning application to buy Whitewebbs and turn it into a training site.

Part of the objection to the training pitch is the historic nature of Whitewebbs, and the loss of our green belt in Enfield

This is no coincidence.

Apparently the tree is on the route for an access road to the proposed development site.

And as someone who has planted over 2000 trees (with the help of the Woodland trust) in order to diversify the local environment, I'm rather hacked off to see such a beautiful old tree subjected to such vandalism. And I suspect not only planning shenanigans, but pocket-lining, since quality oak timber sells for around £3500 per cubic metre...

wound up in a legit operating room yesterday. finger intact, minus one pain in the butt. it was a well oiled machine, everyone was super nice & if my son marries one of the nurses, I might be seeing some of them again, as guests. never imagined I'd be like Wifey trying to match Sonny Boy up w/ available women. some things just come naturally I guess. pretty heartwarming that some of the other nurses helped share photos & numbers. who needs "the apps" when you've got friends?

Much needed 4 and a bit mile stroll taken in the afternoon sunshine and strong breeze while catching up with a couple of podcasts.
A little bit of simple gardening was also done when I got home - the bindweed that comes through the back fence was Weedol'd (although the glyphospate free stuff isn't as effective as the real thing) and Provanto was sprayed on the lillies as a pre-emptive measure against lily beetles although I've not seen any yet.
