Sunny and chilly. Car filled with an old office chair I dismantled earlier in the week fed up of it's squeaks, which failed to respond to a dosing of GT85. Turned out the dismantling was a benefit aside from getting it down the stairs as it ended up distributed in three recycling skips with only the plastic arms going into landfill.
Then a chilled/frozen food shop in Waitrose, Kellys ice creams were conveniently £3 each.

3 mile sunny afternoon trek with a gentler cold wind. Initially with the aim was of disposing of the cleat broken out of 10+ year old cycling shoes. Recycling provision listed at a Co-op petrol station on the A61 but nothing to be found. The mapping seemed to indicate however somewhere near Chevin Cycles but nothing obvious there either. Kitchen towels, flavoured tuna and.nut bars purchased from Aldi.

A warm, sunny and somewhat blustery day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept OK-ish. Haven't done much at all other than listening to Everton v Arsenal and watching the Grand National.

And that leads me onto a bit of a rant. I love NH horse racing, have done since the late 80s. But since the Irish have been throwing stupid sh*t money at it and bagging all the best horses, it's all gotten very boring. Which is why I don't really follow it much anymore. And thank goodness I don't bet, as I'd have lost my shirt if I was backing the home-trained horses. To prove a point, Willie Mullins saddled five of the top seven.

Rant over. I need to go and top up the wood bins in the house and then I shall be making apple fritters. I really fancy some.

Did the Wymondham run. Very enjoyable as especially I realised it's the first decent ride I've had in a few months - ! ^_^
As it was also the first time I've done that route in three years, noticed even more houses and even fewer trees.
Of course, I took advantage of the excellent comestibles at Merv's Hot Bread Kitchen, a must for anyone who has an interest in such things.
Two loaves of ham & cheese bread, two Marmite & cheese pastry twists, then snacked on a cheese & bacon turnover, coffee and a cherry & raisin flapjack to finish. :laugh:Then bought two £8 Toblerones for £5 as they were a week out of date - !
And on the way home, 'bumped into' one of my old guv'nors, so had a banter and catchup with him for a while. :okay:
A good day all round - ! ^_^

Good grief! Did you eat all of that on your ride?
