Sounds like next door he's got the hammer out again. They've either got loads of pictures to put up or he keeps missing the house rabbit.

Snow and ice a dim and distant memory. I should have gone for a ride today but it was such a dreich morning I couldn't motivate myself.

I did take a walk, then ran a few errands and unusually for me, I went shopping and bought some books.

Considering how dirty and messy the roads are following all the gritting, it is probably best I didn't take take any of my bikes out anyway. I might have to consider something really drastic like washing the car as it's filthy! The wonderful thing about having a car you detest is that you don't need to worry about these things. I would never have let my Peugeot get so dirty.

I'm going to make some soup now.

No ride, today, but a 3 mile walk was taken instead.

Another chhhhhhhhhhhilly day here chez Casa Reynard. The world outside vanished into thick fog till lunchtime, and then it was bright and sunny in places, but very cold. The hoar frost didn't melt at all.

Slept well, and despite feeling under the weather (don't you just love it when your hormones go screwy!) I tootled off to Tesco to do the Sunday afternoon lurk. And my New Year's Resolution got kiboshed at the first opportunity. Ooops!!!

No other regulars, but a few opportunists. Some of the reductions weren't as generous as they can be, but there's still bargains to be had. Came home with a small lamb joint, two pork chops, a tray of turkey breast steaks, sausages, cod fillets in batter, four pints of organic milk, two pieces of Epoisses cheese, a tub of shredded smoked beetroot, a punnet of mushrooms, a bag of rolls (useful for next weekend's packup), eight chocolate croissants and four pains au raisin.

Got home, put everything away and got changed into something warmer / more comfy just in time to listen to Arsenal v Man U. I think the neutral will have enjoyed that far more than I did, but three points is three points. Can't wait to watch MOTD later.

Just fed the cats, and soon it will be time to feed me.

Isn't it strange how the brain works ? I was doing a crossword puzzle the other day . I had a quick look at it yesterday as a few questions remained . One question was the name of president Roosevelt 's wife . This morning Ladybird popped into my head . I think that was L. B. Johnson's wife . A few minutes later Eleanor popped up! My brain has been busy working on that without my knowledge .

Eleanor, had a rose named after her. Look up an early catalogue listing
