Everyone keeps raving about bradgate park and how we ought to go , but it doesn't look like there are wheelchair friendly footpaths?

the main path through is wheelchair friendly and flat , here is a image from a newspaper to give you an idea

It's been a beautiful, sunny and spring-like day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well and had a nice lie in. Spent some of the morning swapping texts with a friend who is competing in a Trial today, passengering for the two-time national champion. Otherwise, just did some gentle chores.

Lovely luncheon of sourdough toast, corned beef, buffalo mozzarella, fruit and a :cuppa:

Spent the afternoon cutting firewood as the main log bin the in the garage was empty. Saw was being recalcitrant, using a lot of fuel and oil and scorching the wood. After I filled the bin, I let the saw cool down, stripped it, cleaned it and reassembled everything. It threw the chain when I used it last, but I just put replaced it and carried on, as I didn't have any tools with me. Turns out the screw that holds the bar to the tensioning mechanism had worked its way loose, meaning that things were a bit squiffy in the works.

I've also poached some smoked basa and hard boiled some eggs.

Now sat by the fire with a :cuppa: and watching the football.

Bird feeders need a bit of a shake to de-ice them & a too-up, too..
The two spare hooks on it have large mesh feeders with straw & sheep wool (collected from barbed wire fencing on a dog walk) for any birds in search of nesting material.
We have bluetits in one, possibly two, of the four nesting boxes and they seem to like the free bedding 👌

Cat hair and dog hair is another good one. Alas I don't put any out, as the jackdaws will stuff it down the chimney.

Went on a 'nostalgic trip' to Tetbury last week and with my experience of how downhill the Orwell at Felixstowe has gone, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the country pile; Eynsham Hall, where I did my basic training in 1974 has become a very salubrious spa resort where I parked my modest Kia Ceed among Lambos, Porches & the like - ! What cracked me up was that when I went for a widdle, the hand drying facilities for their esteemed clientele were not common hot air dryers or paper towels, but individually rolled flannels in a large wicker basket - ! Even odder was the two leather padded armchairs in the karzi. To sit and contemplate the other karzi users or just read a copy of the Times - ?
And the hotel I began my dubious career in the hotel industry has risen from a 3* family run place to a 4* again a very posh establishment dripping money with the upgrading and extensions. ^_^

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Second road ride out after December's finger-dismembering incident. This time it was a few road miles to the greenway, up the greenway (with obligatory coffee & cake) then return the same way. All fine except for an idiot on a high-powered electric motorbike wheelie-ing on the greenway without seeing me. Two things:

1. What's happened to the road conditions since Christmas? I know I was told I'd really feel the vibrations but everything feels completely pot-holed. Maybe it is?
2. Hills!!!!! :cursing: :heat: What was a short slope now feels like a gargantuan climb. That's probably because my Zwift setting is on 50% and I've had a ride at a low-ish HR for the past two months.
