About half way to Leeds - on a different route that gets me there slightly earlier than originally scheduled.

Edit - don't worry Yorkshire types, I'm not stopping, just changing trains.

I had to go to Leeds once for a job interview. Not impressed and the job turned out to be for a sort of sales rep to farmers. Even less impressed and got an overnight train back to Glasgow.

Sunny but cold and well insulated for a co-op trek. Thought I had picked an even cheaper bar of chocolate given the 25p off voucher but at the till it was the same price as the rest so quickly swopped for the one I was going to pick up.

Aldi didn't have orange juice, smoked cheese with jalapeño, or the salami I was looking for. The self-service till refused to accept the pizza and then the gem lettuce but by that time I couldn't get the attention of the person working there because a big argument had broken out about whether someone had paid for the drink they'd started drinking before leaving the shop. And then the bus was late.

That's just another day's shopping done

Snow showers today but the car windscreens are mostly clear now.
Pottered around doing odd jobs indoors and fought with the new IHD for my smart meter as I had to shift it from where the installation guy left it.
He seemed a bit reluctant to give me one and gave a very cursory instruction on how to set it.
Why is it in Welsh?
Found some instructions from Mr Google but the whole thing seems a bit weird and not easy to get the desired readings.

Finally managed to order a new mattress when we went though to pay it refused. Message then came up we are unable to process X,X,Z etc, etc.
Practically ever one you can think of , lucky we had one not on the list. Then came the next problem Mrs 73 went to pay then asked for card password to verify. Kept saying it was wrong even though it kept sending pass codes. She has no luck resetting it so time to try mine, 1st time say issue so we try again and finally it went though. worth the messing about though we've saved almost £900.

It's been a sunny, blustery, raw and chilly day here chez Casa Reynard.

Did not sleep well, as lady issues kept making me trot to and from the little girls' room. Not great when it's chilly and it takes ages to get warm in bed after. So am somewhat in sleep deficit. Had to give in and add some extra base layers on - my cycling thermals are doing double duty. And you know it's cold when I've broken out the fluffy pink socks.

I have had a productive day though, sorting out firewood and some paperwork. I also cleaned and serviced the chainsaw and fitted the new chain I bought on Monday.

BTW, I can heartily recommend the poppyseed stollen from Lidl. It's lovely if you like your cakes not too sweet. It's a pretty close match to the Polish makowiec, which is traditional for Christmas Eve. Saves me baking one.
