Mist's cleared.
Rain started just as we got back from our hour's walkies 🐶

There is a chocolate croissant in the kitchen with my name on it. :hungry:

There's an unbaked one in my freezer with mine on it.

Curiously, even my German keyboard has the '€' on the 'E' key; we have an extra "AltGr" key next to the space bar that you have to press like a shift key to activate it. Nearly a quarter of a century after Euro first came into use, and they still make this odd shortcut. So much for German efficiency.

I worked on one of the early packet switching exchanges, covering the EU & Switzerland. You learnt a lot about the 'efficiencies' of the various nationals.

Cool, murky and hosing down with rain here chez Casa Reynard.

Did not sleep particularly well. For some reason, I felt really cold, so I got up to grab a hot water bottle. That worked well enough for a while - until the cat nicked it. Which meant that I ended up pretzelled in a really weird position and was still cold.

Not much one can do when the weather is like this, so I have been working on some writing and assisting the parental unit with her lace patterns. I also had a bit of a kitchen morning. The crock pot is locked and loaded with all the ingredients to make a nice tomato & Mediterranean vegetable sauce, which I will need for tonight's supper.

I did not water the plants I potted on yesterday, but they look good and are enjoying being rained upon. I always maintain that rain does a far better job than a Human with a watering can.

It is almost time for luncheon.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Had a total of 14 visitors into my 'support room' so far, out of about 140 sitting the exam. Most have been fairly sensible queries.

In the mean-time I've been using the LH screen to schedule eBay listings, do work e-mails, other stuff. Am now bored and still have three hours to fill today:headshake:then another three hours tomorrow. That'll be the 'exciting' bit, when I'm dealing with submission issues.

We sometimes had human visitors who did not like cats. One of our cats sussed this out and made a bee line to sit on their laps.
Never failed and how she worked this out goodness knows but it was infallible.

That's generally because cats communicate by body language, and people who hate cats generally try and not look at them and keep quiet. Cats actually rather like that, because when people stare at a cat without adding any slow blinks to that, they see it as being threatening behaviour. So as a result, they'll gravitate towards the person that in their mind is being non-threatening.

Which is why cats seem to like people who hate cats. But it's all down to the different ways that cats and Humans use to communicate, as there's a lot that's "lost in translation"

Useful information. I'll have to scowl at the resident moggy next time I visit their staff.
