Leaves swept, and garden furniture cleaned and stored away for another year.
Oops....sorry, I thought it was the garden thread!
10/10 for mundane. It's been a strange year in the garden, we only had one bbq all summer and hardly used the furniture. Either the sun was too intense or it was too dull, it never managed to hit the happy medium that made standing over charcoal with a beer seem like a good idea.

The lamb shanks are now in the oven and I need a lie-down, cooking is stressful

We have just counted the 'bottle'*. The amount was not mundane and not suitable for the mundane news thread ....

*We used to have a proper brandy bottle for money which sadly got broken many years ago. We moved on to a whisky bottle which we sold when we sold everything and went off the cycle... We now have the container that a 70c bottle of whisky came in that we were given as a thank you for lending someone our bike boxes. This 'bottle' wasn't thought to hold much....

My son and his young family left for their home in Canada this morning. The wife's gone to see our daughter dahn sarf for a few days. The house has gone from rammed, and strewn with Lego and Brio, to just me and the dog. If I can get over this chest infection I might get a few miles in this week. :hyper:

....any craters to report?

No but I've just read the instructions for replacing Swann Morton scalpel blades and have discovered that I've been doing it wrong for the past forty three years.

I should be using pliers.

Just polished off our lamb shanks  been in the oven all afternoon.....

Shaun
Our shanks were perfect, the meat fell off the bone, the sauce was smooth and glossy with loads of flavour. The carrots were just cooked with a slight bite, the brocolli soft of stem but still holding together at the crown and the mash was velvety and buttery.
Unfortunately I'm going to have to do a @Patrick Stevens and not show you the proof because in my haste to get at it I neglected to take a picture.

Lu doesn't know it yet, but I've pencelled her in for all Sunday meals from now on.
