Right he's home safely and we have just proved that you can quite easily get both my wheelchair and a bike in the estate with the back seats down. :cough: rather useful given the whole reason for the new car was to get my trike into it!
He did 254.38km which is 158.1 miles in a little over 12hrs cycling time with 1790m of climbing. He knows yesterday didn't set him up for it. A funeral is never the best setup, a family funeral even less so. Lunch was chips, evening meal was chips and well chips are just not what sets you up foot a long bike ride which is really a shame because other than hitting a bad headwind on the climb up Pen-y-Pass the conditions have been ideal and could not have been better this evening! Oh and yes he only took 1 front light which as he worked out after the first time I asked him about how many he was carrying he worked out the answer was not enough to get home!
Still he's enjoyed it and he's safe. Plenty of other cyclists checked on him towards the end as well noticing he was struggling which is really good to hear!
I'm now abandoning him and going to bed!
