No, but I don't think she brought any of them with her when she visited Leicester.

Well to give you an idea, Darren Mcgrady who used to be a chef there and wrote a book about his time there says that she travels with 10-20 of them. 10 on duty at any time so i would double the figure to 40.

Yep, saw the old tin triangle as it flew over Keswick after it's visit to overfly the static one at Crosby airport. Probably never see one in the air again

After getting home & showering/eating, after my race yesterday, Scroll down for photos/results, I nipped over to a local 'continental mini-mart' & bought a caseof SuperMalt

I drove down to RAF Finningley (as I, & doubtless a lot of other people, still call it) to see the take-off today

I parked on the road from the 'GNR' (A639), that heads out towards Austerfield, arriving at12;30, the verges were packed with parked cars

I managed a few photos, but even with a 500mm (equvilant) lens, I was out-gunned by the guys with the serious equipment
However, what an incredible sight & an even better noise

I missed it yesterday, with racing, so decided to make the most of it today, & head down to the southern end of the runway

Schedule was for a 13:00 take-off, & it was bang on time

There was none of this lumbering into the air, like a commercial jet, it was a quick take-off, granted!, not a 'Cold War take-off', but still quick
