Yes, Peoria is the World Headquarters, and many of the plants, built during the turmoil of the thirties, were in East Peoria, where they started as Holt Tractor, and in surrounding communities, all about 10 miles apart or so.I had lots of relatives work there as well.

We have a plant just outside Leicester, they don't have a very good reputation as an employer. I have a couple of friends who got jobs there and left within a year.

I think it may be possible they have more factories than the one in Desford.

The place I like in Desford is Tropical Bird Land. I dropped in there to use the cafe whilst out on a bike ride one day and the woman who served me had a large red Macaw sat on her shoulder.

Very sunny out... But doesn't feel that warm out .... yet! Last week in was in full winter wear, I can't decide what to wear today, so far I've decided on trainers rather than my winter boots that I need last week but do I bare a little arm or leg? Or just pack an option for cycling home?

And yes I'm pleased for Leicester, they only really came to my notice in the thread last year, when it seemed to be a celebration that they didn't go down!
