I didn't cycle into work today.
I cycled home from work yesterday.

I'm looking at Thule carriers. Most of ex people I know who have one rave about them.
yep - thule here as well don't need anything between car and bike on ours but we have the type the bike stand on and it locks to the car's towbar as well. The bikes then lock to the rack so we can easily leave them in a service station car park. (We add our own bike locks as well though). PS - if you have had the towbar fitted to your car you need to let your insurance company know as it is classed as a modification. Doesn't cost any extra but if your car is rear ended, it covers you and your bikes, plus the obvious extra checks that would be need to be made given a towbar is now there.

I have a new job title and a very nice pay rise. Yay me!

I'm looking at the platform type. Insurers know about the modification and are fine with it.

I got a demountable tow bar fitted and it has fold away electrics. You can't see the fittings when the towbar's not there - it's very tidy.
they are not cheap, at least the ones with the clamps that are lockable, but they are worth every penny and are 'life time' purchases.
We have this type... with the extra for the 4th bike which we do use when we go away. Did use when we went away before I did my back in and now have a recumbent trike.

It took about 4 months, but we found one for less than 1/2 price on ebay.

To be fair, the C Max is a lot flatter at the back than many cars, so it doesn't slope away from the bikes. I wanted a 2 bike platform type but couldn't get one and this one was a lot cheaper.

Much like mine. If you've got a plastic lighting plug, make sure it doesn't fall out, or at least won't reach the ground, especially if you back out of a parking space.
